Hi all!Ā Hope you are having a lovely day.Ā I am back with another fabulous author to share with you.Ā See his interview below and make sure you grab a copy of his book, Beyond Dark Waters!Ā Take care, my friends.Ā Until next time..
That is a difficult as I wrote a series of three. Basically I have introduced the concept of a Quinling: a gift from nature whereby one species is given the opportunity to enter into five species in turn, leading quests and seeing problems from a different point of view.
Book one (Beyond Dark Waters) is about a boy who falls into a lake. His quests cover subjects from friendship and bullying, to the energy cycle and environmental issues.
Book two (Above and Beyond Dark Waters) sees a girl take to the air. She learns leadership, kinship as well as how to handle life when everything is against you
Book three grows up the boy from book one in the real world. The lessons he learned as a Quinling should have kept him on the right path, but misplaced trust and naivety see his world fall apart when it had only just begun. This book takes the boy from being a straight A student, to being thrown out of school with a criminal record. It takes him through the fight to make himself a good life. It tackles what it is like to grow up, fall in love, marry, raise a family, enjoy a granddaughter (the girl from book two), have close family members die and finally face death himself. I have seen grown women in tears over parts of this book.
2.Ā Writing is a difficult endeavor. What makes you continue to write?
Writing is something I have always done. When my children were young I wrote them stories. When close friends died I wrote pieces of comfort for their families. When a girl who called me Dad (but not a blood relative) was dying of cancer at the tender age of 32, I wrote her a story to take away her fears. Writing is my preferred form of expression (since I no longer play Rugby Union) and I have written for weddings, funerals and other events. Books are a natural extension and I like to allow my passion for the natural world to seep through the pages.
3.Ā Ā Ā What do you look forward to every day?
Having just turned 65, waking up at all is a gift. I look forward to Julie’s (my wife) first smile of the day. I look forward to sorting the thoughts in my mind into some kind of order so I can put them on paper. I look forward to sunrise, and wonder if the wild creatures around me are enjoying it as well. Mostly, I look forward to the gift of another day.
4.Ā Ā Ā How do you define success? What makes you successful?
Success to me is contentment in most things I do.Ā There might be some people who are content with everything, but I believe they are few and far between. Writing success is when I read a passage from one of my books, smile to myself and say: “Yes, that’s exactly how I meant to say it; that’s the effect I wanted to create.
5.Ā Ā Ā Any tips for a new writer?
Learn all the rules of the English language (or whatever language you favour). Don’t worry that you’re not following someone else’s rules. Rules do not make good books. Passion does. Be brave, because with every manuscript you submit, you are sending out a piece of yourself to be enjoyed, hurt or abused. Write what makes you happy and don’t worry about how fast or slow someone else writes. Know your story before you begin and let nobody put you off. Writing is a personal quest, and only you know what works for you.

Beyond Dark Waters by Des Birch presents a totally original story precept. The author succeeds in weaving facets of life that all face including fear, misunderstandings, courage and compassion. The main character is transformed into the necessary forms to understand how all of life is connected. It is rare to find a book that can be highly recommended by many. Beyond Dark Waters goes beyond this expectation and should be mandatory reading for all people.
Beyond Dark Waters is hereby recognized for story originality, depth of interwoven plotlines and delivering a significant message during the rights of passage into adulthood. Des Birch has achieved an accomplishment with this book as well as other published works and this has earned him the ePublishing Consortium Writers Award of Merit.

Hello again lovely readers!
I am back again with another fantastic author!Ā Check out my interview with R.M. James, here~
Tell me a bit about one of your favorites that you wrote.
The female character in Firefly Kaylaās Gift is a firecracker with a temper from hell. She has been through emotional turmoil living with her abusive husband that nearly destroyed her life. Her story is about emotional abuse which is happening quite a lot. I’m telling her story because she overcame the mistreatment.
Writing is a difficult endeavor.Ā
Writing is not easy, honestly, but if you have a wild imagination and love to read then it wouldnāt be as difficult. But Iāll say that writers block can be a booger at times!
What makes you continue to write?
The characters in my head. Itās almost like they took a life of their own and want their stories told.
What do you look forward to every day?
First to thank God for another day then sit in front of the computer and give my characters free reign. However, now their story is marinating in my head because Iām preparing for my dissertation for the doctor degree Iām pursuing.
How do you define success?Ā
How I define success is to never give up. Failure will always be a given if you donāt give up but itās an opportunity to find what works.
What makes you successful?
Me? Success is never allowing failure to define me and keep pushing until I hit that goal!
Any tips for a newbie writer?
My advice for a writer is this, take your time and polish your work. Make sure all the iās are dotted because you always want to sell a good product. Writing takes time and so should the end product. Lastly, never get discouraged when the manuscript is turned down by a publisher. It happens.

As I reflect upon my weight loss journey, I have to mention one of the best things I’ve found along the way with my weight loss experience.
I have had plenty of days I am so sick I can’t eat.Ā I’ve lost weight, as a result, but that is not fun…Ā Ā I have had a few people comment on how much thinner I look.Ā I am thankful for their sweet praise, but that’s not the fun I’m talking about.
What has been fun for me through this brief journey are the new stores I am able to venture into that had nothing in my size before.Ā Changing departments from Women’s to Ladies was also an incredible difference I had to get used to.Ā I don’t think people who have never been a plus-size understand how Amazing it is to walk past a Lane Bryant or Avenue store (sadly all the brick and mortar Avenue stores closed in my area) and, instead, walk right into a Victoria’s Secret or Old Navy.Ā These stores never had anything to offer me before.Ā Granted, since the last time I walked into Old Navy, they apparently added a Plus size section but I was never able to enter this store before without feeling out of place.Ā Happily, this is no more!
It still floors me that not only can I walk into a Victoria’s Secret store but they actually have stuff, even lingerie, that fits me now!Ā WOW.Ā This is a big step for someone who was once a 22W+!!!Ā No one can truly understand how humbling this experience is for me.Ā It is so incredibly shocking to me that I almost want to cry every time I am able to fit into something smaller and able to go into a store without someone telling me I am in the wrong section (yes, a floor associate told this to me and my mom a while back at a major retailer).Ā People also look at you differently when you enter a store that does not have your size.Ā I don’t think they mean to but it still hurts for the woman who feels self-conscious about her size, to begin with.
There are some stores that I still can’t venture into yet but one day I will and that, too, will be a triumph for me!Ā Right now, though, I am relishing my mini-triumphs and having fun buying bathing suits (yes- bathing suits that are actually sexy and not tarps!!!) and evening dresses.
This is one small step for me and it has been a long, hard road but I am so very happy to be here now.Ā Thank you for joining me in this journey.Ā xoxo

This one is a bit late, I know, but who doesn’t like Holiday stories all year long?Ā I know I do!Ā Check out this too hot tale sure to thrill you and warm up those cold nights!
Jennifer Denys presents~
This is a tale of unrequited love . . . but will it be requited by the end? Of course, it will ā this is a Christmas story after all!
The question is, how will Gren, a troll and bartender at Pogueās Bar, prove to the beautiful blonde Siren, Ligia, that he is the man for her? When unexpected circumstances bring them together, he jumps at the chance to give her a special Christmas present and show her that he is everything she needs. Will his present ā a session in his personal S&M playroom ā be enough? Or could her Siren song cause his death in the process?
Excerpt:
The troll leaned in, placing hands either side of Ligiaās shoulders, holding her in place. āWhy not try being the submissive for once?ā
āMe? Ha! In your dreams.ā
Her hands pounded his arms but he wasnāt letting her go. Instead, he bent his head to nuzzle her neck. āI think youāve always fantasized of a Dom taking charge and keeping control, not letting you seduce them into doing what you want.ā
Gren could feel Ligia trembling as he kissed her skin moving closer to her luscious mouth. āNever!ā The Sirenās verbal response was at odds with her body.
He held himself a hairsbreadth from her lips. āYou let Dante order you around.ā
She huffed. āItās a game we play. I always let him pretend for a few minutes.ā Then she remembered the demon was dead and her attitude changed as she pushed at his chest. āLet me go. Iāve had enough Doms for one night.ā
He was surprised by the sudden change in her demeanor and made a swift decision. āNo.ā He wasnāt going to let her go in this mood. She needed something to get over what had happened earlier.
The Siren frowned. āWhat do you mean, ānoā?ā She tried pushing him again with more determination this time.
Gren chuckled when she failed to move him. āOh. And who exactly is in charge here?ā
Ligiaās jaw dropped in astonishment. āThere is no way I am letting you dominate me.ā
The troll moved quickly, grabbing her hair tightly in one hand, pulling her head back. He encircled her waist with his other arm dragging her away from the wall. It was like taking an animal by the scruff. Ligia froze in his arms, her eyes widening in amazement.
āThatās more like it. What you donāt know, sweetheart, is that when Iām in here Iām the Dom! I was just letting you have a bit of fun before. Itās my turn now and I want you to kneel down.ā
